About Antalya area
Good to know!

Diverse landscapes

The Antalya region of Turkey – along the country’s southern coastline – is affectionately known as the Turkish Riviera, thanks to its picturesque waterfront towns and over 400 miles of A-grade beaches. Point your binoculars in land, though, and you’ll see that the scenery there’s well worth a shout out, too. It’s stocked with everything from tour-worthy avocado plantations to the 3,700-metre-tall Taurus Mountains. We offer direct, four-and-a-half-hour flights to this part of Turkey from 13 different UK airports. You’ll land at Antalya Airport, a 15-minute drive from the city of the same name.

Amble around Antalya

The city of Antalya’s a real favourite with history buffs. They’re treated to an arm’s length list of Byzantine sights to explore, most of which you’ll find around the old quarter. Here, winding cobbled alleyways lined with restored Ottoman houses weave past pottery-packed archaeological museums. Plus, you can mix up your sightseeing sessions with a bit of shopping – top-name-brand boutiques are scattered all over Antalya. The Roman-Empire-aged marina, meanwhile, is the ideal place to end the day with a relaxing sunset stroll.

Family breaks to Side

If you prefer smaller, more peaceful towns, the Antalya area’s ripe with contenders. Take Side, for example. This settlement’s an hour’s drive east along the coast from the city, and it hits the spot when it comes to chilled-out trips. The harbour here’s lined with a group of traditional Turkish restaurants. And the two beaches – East and West Beach – offer up shallow water for younger holidaymakers to play in, as well as a handful of seaside bars that are perfect for parents.
